First class flights to St. Petersburg on Emirates airlines will begin operating daily from to Dubai, making this Russian city the most northerly location in the airline network. Two different planes will travel the route, both an Airbus A340-300 and A330-200, and both will offer first class flights.

EK 137 will leave Dubai in the morning and arrive in St. Petersburg in the afternoon. Return flights will leave St. Petersburg in the afternoon and arrive in Dubai shortly after midnight. Both planes feature 12 first class seats, where passengers can enjoy luxurious sleeper seats with access to hundreds of on-demand entertainment channels. First Class seats can be reclined to a fully horizontal position and offer 86" of legroom. First class passengers will also enjoy complimentary chauffeur service in Dubai and the privilege of using the Dubai airport lounges.

British Airways is now offering first class flights to Las Vegas on its daily runs from Heathrow. The introduction of the first class flights will raise the airline's capacity by 18%, and the flights will all be non-stops on Boeing 747's configured into four classes.

These include Club World and First Class, which will offer 14 luxury seats. The BA First Class cabin features individual suites which give passengers the most privacy and luxury. Each passenger will enjoy their own 15 inch TV screen for in-flight entertainment, a personal wardrobe, electronic blinds and adjustable mood lighting. The demand for the Las Vegas route has been fantastic since it was first introduced in 2009, and the additional first class seats are in response to customer demand. First class seats are 60% wider than economy seats and are designed to create a luxurious experience for customers.

The Zehst is a high tech concept plane that follows in the footsteps of the supersonic Concorde jet liner. The plane would offer first class flights from Paris to New York in 90 minutes and be powered by seaweed.

The EADS revealed plans for the Zhest but the bad news is that it won't be completed until 2050. EADS Innovations together with their subsidiary Astrium and the French aerospace research lab ONERA will work jointly to develop the aircraft. The supersonic plane will achieve the short flight times by skimming the edge of the atmosphere at speeds up to Mach4. It is also an attempt to prove that bio-fuels and electricity can replace fossil fuels in the future of aviation. The plane design features two turbojet engines running on biofeul, and it's engineered to utilize a regular runway.
